Ferrit was happy to report that she had finally sent away a little parcel of goodies to the lovely Foxes online shoppe. She'd made a small bundle of single stem roses and bunches of daises, as well as some key, rose and cross necklaces. She hoped the postman was prompt enough so some of the stuff would be able to make an appearance at the amazing Auckland Art and Craft Fair this Saturday at the Aotea Centre in Auckland on the Foxes table. But if not they would be up for sale in the next week or so

Ferrit was sorry she hadn't been up to date in a while, it had taken a wee while to get organised at her new home in Yarraville.

She wanted to share a few photos from her Craft Hatch stall in March which was at the State Library of Victoria.

And also about her adventure to her very first Finders Keepers in Melbounre, which she thought was super. So many interestings things to look all under one amazingly large shed roof. With delicious food like vegan coconut cupcakes with key lime icing form Mister cupcake and the cool tunes of the Bon Scotts. Ferrit had to put a limit of what things she was allowed to buy and stuck to only getting pictures and prints for her new home. She would be posting about these soon

Ferrit had spent the weekend searching for a suitcase to put all her crafty gears in and transport them from home to market. Whilst strolling in a cute little village called Yarraville in Melbourne she came across a secondhand and antique shop filled with lots of interesting goods. She spotted an old suitcase that would be perfect for the job

Ferrit had also been on the hunt for some new vases to put her roses in and found two in the same shop. She was going to continue her hunt as she needed a few more for her upcoming stall at Craft Hatch in a couple of weeks time

Ferrit had some exciting but sad news to report. She had decided to cross the ditch and move to Melbourne to live. She was sad to be leaving all her friends, family and market buddies but was excited for a new adventure and crafting endeavors.

Ferrit had been packing for days trying to squeeze all her things into boxes and suitcases ready to be shipped over. She was taking all her crafting gears with her and would be continuing to make things when living in Melbourne. She was also looking at setting up an online store in the next month or so and would have news about this after she had settled.

Ferrit wanted to thank all the lovely people that supported and encouraged her throughout the last year and made it possible for her to continue doing what she loves. She hoped all her New Zealand buddies and market friends would keep in touch.

Ferrit had had a very busy few weeks leading up to all her Xmas markets and had finally finished all her crafting to do's. She would be having a little break between Christmas and New Year, but would be back in action January 2011.

Ferrit went for a little outing in Ponsonby yesterday to check out a boutique she had been meaning to go to for a while now called Douglas and Bec. As she strolled up to the shop front she was greeted by blooming potted plants at the door step.

"Good Wreath"

Ferrit had spent that last few days finishing off her Christmas wreath for Parnell Inc's "Good Wreath" Exhibition. She had made it up with lots of little screen printed soft objects and it was inspired by all the things that Christmas might mean to different people, from faith and religion, to love and romance, to presents and giving, to spending summertime by the sea and beaches.

Ferrit's wreath was going to be hung in MP designer fashion store at 401 Parnell Road , at the top of the hill. Along with Ferrit there was 20 other participating artists whose wreaths would be on display in various store and gallery windows around Parnell. The "Good Wreath" Exhibition runs from 19th of November until the 19 December with the wreaths being auctioned off on Trade Me, with 20% of proceeds being donated to NZ Gyneacological Foundation.

Ferrit was looking forward to taking a stroll around Parnell and spotting all the festivities and would do an update of the wreaths once they were all on display in the next few days

Auckland Art Week was up and running and Ferrit was happy to be part of the Society of Brilliant Ideas Open Studio Exhibition and Night Market tonight. It was going to be an insiders look in to this cool creative hub. With artist's exhibiting their work, and crafty things on sale, along with a band playing some sweet tunes. It was sure to be an interesting evening and Ferrit suggested everyone pop on down for a visit.

It was daylight saving time this weekend and Ferrit was excited to put her clock forward on Sunday and gain some more sunlight hours. She loved daylight saving and being able to go for evening strolls, and have twilight dinner picnics. It signaled what she hoped would be the beginning of more warmth and sunshine in the air and fun times ahead.

Ferrit had been inspired by the different shades of pinks from the spring blossoms and decided to make some pretty pink things,

She made some pink striped bows, threaded pink cotton brooches, some hand coloured pink daisies, and some stitched fabric pictures with vintage floral fabric and gold foiling.

There was something about pink and the colour of spring blossoms that made Ferrit feel warm and fuzzy inside and she was looking forward to hunting out all her spring dresses for the coming months

It was such a beautiful spring day yesterday and Ferrit got a bit excited by the sun-a-shining and the birds-a-singing. She went for a little walk and came across a pink blossoming tree, she loved the contrast between the pink of the blossoms and the bright blue of the sky.

Spring made Ferrit very happy.

To make the day even more spring-like Ferrit dressed up in her pinkest dress and went her friends floral themed birthday party. There was prettiness everywhere, with flowers and lights and cupcakes and meringues.

There was also an amazing cake, lovingly handmade of three layers, the top was vanilla, middle chocolate mud cake, and the bottom red velvet cake, the roses on the top where homemade aswell, from a special icing made partly of melted marshmallows. Ferrit thought it was delicious!

Ferrit had a wonderful spring day yesterday but it was raining today and she wondered where spring had gone? She wished it would come back some time soon and make her happy again.

"Fathers Day Treats"

It was Fathers Day yesterday and Ferrit had baked some treats for her Dad. Some chocolate coconut macaroon mountains and she thought she'd share the delicious recipe with her friends

fresh out of the oven

Chocolate Coconut Macaroon Mountains

1 1/2 cups of thread coconut

1 1/2 cups desiccated coconut

1/2 cup of crushed almonds

1/2 cup dried cranberries, chopped

1/2 can of sweetened condensed milk

125g dark chocolate drops/melts

Heat oven to 180 degrees.

Mix all ingredients together apart from chocolate.

Form into small compact mountains with hands

Place onto greased baking tray and cook for about 10mins, or golden brown on top

Allow to cool

Melt chocolate and dip each mountain in, coating the top

Leave for a while to set chocolate

Ferrit was back from her holiday in Melbourne, she had only gone for a week but it was enough time to fall in love. There was so many interesting things to see and do there and Ferrit was inspired by all the wonders of Melbourne.

Ferrit had been so busy writing for her university assignments she had pretty much spent the last two weeks at the computer, typing and typing and typing. She had finally finished it all and was so happy! All her hard work was worth it because she was flying off to Melbourne tomorrow and would be able to relax for a week. She was looking forward to catching up with her friends there, fossicking through all the wonderful shops, browsing through galleries and artist spaces, eating, drinking and enjoying just general happy times.

Ferrit was going to be away for a week but would be back just in time to celebrate Kraftbomb's 2nd birthday on Sunday 29th.

Ferrit was just recovering from her wonderful crafty fair and market filled weekend. It was the very first Auckland Art and Craft Fair on Saturday and Ferrit was so happy to have been part of it. From when the doors opened at 11am till when they closed at 3pm there was a super stream of people flowing in and out. Ferrit liked the busy atmosphere and meeting all the lovely people throughout the day. Jess and Kylie had done an amazing job at organising it all and having support from Frankie Magazine, Base FM and Eco Store made the day that little bit more special. Ferrit was excited to find out the dates for the summer fair at the end of the year which were going to be announced soon.

She was lucky to pick up an amazing crocheted, triple ruffle, neck piece from one of the other stall holders, which Ferrit has been wearing ever since. Ferrit also meet the lovely Tee from Nz Girl who brought a bunch of red roses and did a little write up about them at nzgirl.co.nz

Ferrit was back from her holiday in Wellington and had been trying to catch up on a bit of crafting. She had many-a-markets coming up and was busily trying to create new things for her stall. Ferrit was happy to have finished making up her new prints of hearts, skulls and anchors and they were all ready for the Cassette Super Markets tomorrow.

The weather wasn't looking too hopeful but Ferrit didn't mind because the Super Markets were inside and perfect for all weather conditions. She knew there would be warmth, music, vintage and cupcakes which made braving the rain all the more ok.

Ferrit was happy to have been part of another Super Market at Cassette on Saturday. This time she managed to get few snaps of the wonderful interiors before the market was in full swing. She thought the cute banner trimmings hanging from ceiling gave it nice markety feel.

Ferrit also liked the red mood lighting in her corner and thought it was a wee bit romantic

She was lucky to have had her friend Tiara and her stall neighbour Ash from MeowMix as cheerful company for the day.

Ferrit really liked the relaxed atmosphere at Cassette and was pleased to hear they would be running weekly Saturday markets from now on. Ferrit knew others would enjoy it too and thought one of these days they should pop down and check it out

It was Ferrit's friend Tiara's birthday in the weekend and so she decided to make her some birthday cupcakes. After stumbling across a vegan cupcake cookbook she found the perfect recipe to compliment their mexican dinner.............. Mucho Margarita Cupcakes. Ferrit was a little hesitant when she read the ingredients which included soy milk, lime zest and juice, tequila and vanilla but she thought she'd give it a go anyway.

Ferrit was pleasantly suprised when the little patty pans of mixture puffed up like cupcakes should and wanted to share the successful recipe with her friends so they could all enjoy the delights of vegan margarita cupcakes

Mucho Margarita Cupcakes

1/4 cup lime juice

1 1/2 tsp lime zest

1 cup soy milk

1/4 canola oil

2 tbsp tequila

1/2 tsp vanilla

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 1/3 cups all purpose flour

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

Beat lime juice, zest, soy milk, oil, tequila, vanilla and sugar. Sift in baking soda, flour, baking powder and salt. Mix until batter is smooth (add more flour if mix is too runny). Fill 12 patty pans 3/4 full and bake for 20-22 mins

Icing

1/4 cup vegan margarine - softened

1 tbsp soy milk

3 tbsp lime juice

1 tbsp tequila

2 cups icing sugar

Blend margarine with a fork until soft and fluffy then stir in soy milk. lime juice, tequila. Sift in icing sugar and blend until smooth and creamy. Wait for cupcakes to completely cool then ice, and sprinkle granulated sugar around the edges.

Ferrit had a super day at the Cassette Super Markets on Saturday, listening to music, sipping on beer and being surrounded by super people and super stuff. She was a little sad to not have been able to have a proper look around at all the goods but in her quick scavenging was lucky to have collected a few treats from the other stallholders.

Ferrit was pretty happy when she was given a hand made Super Markets bag which was perfect for carrying all her treasures in.

She had eyed up these little bones from the beginning and towards the end of the market finally got her paws on some, there were also some cool bone necklaces that she thought would be on her list for next time.

Then there was a cute hand drawn bird brooch that Ferrit thought was just a wee bit sweet and was made of some intriguing shrunken plastic

One of the two zines she had picked up which was about disastrous cake decorating and having cupcakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner

And then there was the cool ceramic skull candle holder which she got as a gift for her Mr Ferrit

Ferrit thought the Super Markets had definitely lived up to their name and hoped next time she would have time to have good fossick through the racks of vintage wears that were on offer.

Ferrit was a wee bit excited to be part of the very 1st Super Markets hosted by Cassette Nine on Vulcan Lane this Saturday from 12-5pm. This new style of market includes craft, art, zines, vintage, vinyl, food and music and Ferrit couldn't help but think this was an excellent combination that should not be missed.

Ferrit had noticed it was starting to get much colder outside and knew that winter was well on its way. She had also noticed all the daisies had disappeared from the grassy lawns, which made her sad. So Ferrit decided to hold onto the spirit of summer and make some daisies that would last all year round.

Ferrit's last couple of weeks had been very busy and she had finally finished making some of her cameo's. She made most of them into brooches and was thinking of making some into rosettes as well.

Ferrit had spent the morning screen printing and finally got around to printing some cameo silhouettes. Some of the sihouettes were taken from a book she had "The Magicians Newphew" by C.S Lewis and the others were from books and bobs from around her home.

She wanted to turn them into little brooches or soft jewels of some kind and Ferrit knew she had a lot of making ahead of her.

Ferrit was excited to see the newest issue of Extra Curricular Magazine which was coming out tomorrow. Extra Curricular is made by the lovely and very talented Miss Ellie May and Ferrit couldn't wait to get her little paws on her very own copy (each of which are personally numbered by Ellie herself). Ferrit felt privileged to be included in this issue and was looking forward to reading all about the other crafty types.

What a day a bombastic day Ferrit thought to herself upon thinking of the Kraftbomb that had just passed in the weekend

She was so happy to be accompanied by her lovely friend Tiara who had made some amazing aprons each with there very own little names like "miss maid" and "retro rampage".

Ferrit was pleased that City the Nz Cupcake Queen had returned with her delicious cupcakes and she just had to sample two of the most interesting flavours: Chocolate Peanut Butter and Mountain Dew. And what an experience it was! Ferrit had been told that the Mountain Dew one was a little bit like cupcake crack and she agreed. The flavour sensation was like a little fizzy explosion of sugary goodness.

Whilst wondering around Ferrit had the chance to chat with some of her fellow crafters and collect a few things along the way. She stumbled across an old school friend the lovely Gemma from Hunter Gatherer and had a nice little catch up. Ferrit was finally able to get her paws on one of the soft fairy bread toys from Karla of Geek Freeks. Ferrit choose the sad faced one because she thought there was something usually intriguing about a sad piece of fairy bread. She was lucky to get a cute little bunny finger puppet that City's Mum had knitted which came with a bonus chocolate egg inside. She also got some more of the interesting hair badges from Bronwyn of R.W Scissors and a romantic "take me here" map magnet from Olivia of Make Believe. Ferrit was very impressed by the talented Mr Freds cards with amazing drawings of New Zealand images, her favourite was the Auckland city scape.

Ferrit had a super time at Kraftbomb and wanted to thank all those people who supported her throughout the day and her wonderful friends that came visiting.

Ferrit had finally come up with an idea of how to spread her fabric love and let others enjoy the wonders of fabric samples. She had just finished putting together little parcels of fabric pieces in an assortment of colours, patterns and textures.

Ferrit's parcels where made up of sample, recycled and secondhand fabrics that she had collected over time. Ferrit sorted the fabrics into themes and gave each of the parcels a name.

The fabric parcels were going to be at the next Kraftbomb and Ferrit hoped everyone would like them and be inspired to carry out their very own crafty projects.

Valentines day was not far away and Ferrit had spent her Sunday afternoon setting up a themed window display at Salvage vintage textiles store.

Ferrit wanted all those romantics to know that if they were on the hunt for a special Valentines gift, whether for a husband, wife, lover, girlfriend, boyfriend, secret crush or maybe even their cat, something a little different could be found at Salvage, 537 Mt Eden Rd.

Ferrit had been so busy she'd forgotten to tell everyone about her adventures at the Xmas Crafternoon Tea last weekend at Mt Eden Primary School

Ferrit had a super time chatting to other crafters and enjoyed the beautiful woodeness of the school hall and the overflow of interesting things to look at.

Ferrit had got into the xmas spirit and made some crackers for her stall

Ferrit browsed around the other stalls and was tempted by so many crafty things, she brought a few goodies for xmas presents

Ferrit was pleased to meet her friendly stall neighbour Bronwyn from R.W Scissors and her helper Paul. Ferrit liked so much of R.W Scissors stuff, she couldn't resist getting lots of things so ended up doing a big trade of crafty things which was awesome!

Ferrit's favourites were the odd but also intriguing hair and fur brooches

and the hilarious excercise gift tags, just what she'd always needed!

Last but not least Ferrit wanted to thank Luisa and Trent for their efforts, it was lovely day out at the Xmas Crafternoon Tea

The other day Ferrit's friend Thomas taught her how to finger knit. Ferrits liked learning new things and was inspired by the possiblities of finger knitting.

Ferrit attended her very first Kraftbomb and realised why the name suits it so well. It was definitely an explosion of crafty goodness, with lots of wondeful things, creative and friendly crafters and masses of people streeming in and out the doors.

Ferrit brought a few little things and did some trades with other crafters, she got an owesome octopus card from Polly in a Box, some cute little ceramic shapes from Porcelain Rove a lovely hand painted bunting cup from Lily's Make Believe, and bag of delicious chilli chocolate from the young salesman of the day

Her favourite part of Kraftbomb was the cute little kids selling treats like lemonade, sherbert and chocolate, great for an energy boost! Ferrit couldn't help but giggle when she heard one boy say........

"Sherbert for sale, only $1, Sherbert $1,.... or free if your over 30"

She got one of the very first issues of extra curricular magazine made by Miss Ellie May, a rainbow typewriter print from Rodayo Busk, a cherry blossom hair clip by Luisa from Little Bird Designs, a wee birdie brooch from her friendly stall neighbour Kristen of Cheek Pinchy and a wonderful little bag of golden book confetti from R.W Scissors

The last few days had been really busy for Ferrit and she had made lots of new things. She made herself a little inspiration board of all her ideas for future crafting endeavors

Ferrit had done lots of drawings over the past few days which she made into some screenprints. She printed the drawings onto different fabrics she had rummaged from her material bins and made them into new pieces of soft jewellery and other objects

Ferrit hoped the next couple of days were going to be of the productive sort as she knew she had a lot to do and many crafty tasks to complete.

She made some little letters that could be formed into words, she liked the idea the they could be like "talking ornaments".
